PSHE: Learning About Life
Personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education is an important and necessary part of all pupils’ education. PSHE should equip pupils with a sound understanding of risk and with the knowledge and skills necessary to make safe and informed decisions as they develop their ‘Learning for Life’
PSHE education should seek to build, where appropriate, on the statutory content already outlined in the national curriculum, the basic school curriculum and statutory guidance on: drug education, financial education and the importance of physical activity and diet for a healthy lifestyle.
At Malvern we endeavour to provide our pupils with the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives. As part of a whole school approach, PSHE develops the qualities and attributes our pupil need to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society, demonstrating their British values and incorporating elements of their social, moral, spiritual and cultural development. Our PSHE curriculum is also underpinned by our House Team names and the morals and values that they represent, Trust, Courage, Respect and Ambition.
Our PSHE Annual Curriculum plan to contribute to children’s social, moral, spiritual and cultural development.
