Year 6 Visit to London

We stayed at the “University of London, Queen Mary College”. There were 2 children to a room

After passing the Olympic site, and seeing all the new stadiums being built, we arrived at Greenwich and the children had an opportunity to stretch their legs.
We checked into our accomodation and then  visited the Hard Rock Cafe for a lovely meal.  It was then onto the London Eye.  The weather was perfect and we had wonderful views across London.  All the children loved the “flight” and took hundreds of photographs.  They were excellently behaved and even went to sleep at a reasonable hour!

Following a good nights sleep we had a cooked breakfast before setting off on our guided tour of the main tourist sights.  Everyone was so excited when we watched the changing of the guard outside Buckingham Palace.  We saw the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, St Pauls Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and Trafalgar Square and had a walk over the Millennium Bridge.  Then it was on to the Tower of London where we saw the crown jewels and learned about the history of the tower. This evening we have been to Pizza Hut for tea and then off to the theatre to see Oliver.  The production was wonderful!!!!!

The children are now settling down and hopefully going to sleep soon (11.15pm) as all the staff are exhausted!!

It has been a wonderful trip so far with all the children being a credit to their parents with regard to their behaviour and manners.

Everyone once again has had a good nights sleep.  Today we are going on a river cruise, before lunch and then the journey home.  The children are keen to spend every last penny that they have brought, so we will be visiting the souvenir shop before the return journey!
