At Malvern Primary School, we are proud to introduce our Attendance Captains – a group of dedicated and enthusiastic children chosen to advocate the importance of coming to school every day. These ambassadors play a vital role in promoting excellent attendance across our school community, encouraging their peers to understand why attending school regularly is essential for their success and wellbeing.
The role of Attendance Captains is to inspire their classmates by celebrating good attendance and sharing creative ideas to improve it. Our Attendance Captains are consulted on all matters related to attendance and act as advocates for their classmates. They help brainstorm new ways to motivate their peers and come up with creative attendance incentives. When their class achieves the best attendance for the week, the Attendance Captain is presented with the Weekly Attendance Trophy in our Attendance Assembly in recognition of their class’s efforts.
Attending school every day is vital for children to make the most of their education. Regular attendance helps children build strong foundations in key subjects, develop social skills, and form lasting friendships. Missing even a few days can make it harder for them to keep up with their learning, affecting their confidence and progress. Consistent attendance also helps children develop routines and a sense of responsibility that will benefit them in later life.
Through the efforts of our Attendance Captains, we aim to ensure that every child understands the importance of being present at school, not just for their academic growth but also for their personal development. Together, we can support all our pupils to reach their full potential and make the most of every learning opportunity.
