Gallery Visit

Throughout this academic year, our Arts Ambassadors have embarked on a series of enriching experiences that have broadened their artistic horizons and deepened their understanding of the arts.

Drama and Music Excursions:

Our ambassadors have had the privilege of attending several captivating performances:

  • Alice in Wonderland at Shakespeare North Playhouse on 27th November 2024
  • The Rock and Roll Panto at The Everyman Theatre on 11th January 2025
  • The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, The Musical at The Empire on 19th February 2025
  • The World in One City: A Musical Journey, a Philharmonic Orchestra performance at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on 13th March 2025

These excursions have not only entertained but also inspired our students, providing them with a deeper appreciation for theatrical and musical arts.

Visual Arts Engagement:

In addition to performances, our Art Ambassadors have actively engaged with visual arts:

  • A visit to the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool allowed students to explore a diverse range of artworks and sculptures. They enthusiastically discussed their favourite pieces and shared their insights with classmates upon returning.
  • Looking ahead, trips are planned to the FACT and Victoria art galleries in Liverpool during the Summer term, offering further opportunities for artistic exploration.

Collaborative Initiatives and Exhibitions:

The programme has fostered collaboration and hands-on artistic creation:

  • Art Ambassadors engaged in informal discussions with school governors, sharing their passion for art, detailing their roles, and showcasing their creations, including sketchbooks and sculptures.
  • Year 5 Art Ambassadors participated in the Dot-Art Schools competition, contributing original artworks to this esteemed inter-school contest. The competition celebrates the creativity of young artists across the Liverpool City Region, culminating in a public exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery. Public voting for the shortlisted artworks began on 24th March 2025 and will conclude on 24th April 2025.

The upcoming Summer term promises to be equally enriching for our Art Ambassadors:

  • A performance of Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat, The Musical at The Empire is scheduled for 16th July 2025, offering students an opportunity to experience a classic musical production.
  • Year 1 and 2 Art Ambassadors will participate in specialized art sessions led by the Art Subject Lead. These sessions will focus on creating outdoor art installations, which will be proudly displayed within the school premises, enhancing our learning environment and showcasing the students’ creativity.
