Malvern Primary School: Harnessing the Power of Community with Social Value Sundays
At Malvern Primary School, we believe that community is at the heart of every positive change. It is our strong sense of togetherness that enables us to shape a brighter, healthier and more welcoming environment for all. To harness this strength, we organise regular Social Value Sunday events, where families, colleagues, governors and local elected members gather to improve our surroundings. Each Sunday event is a true demonstration of community power in action.
Social Value Sundays are a testament to the spirit of collective action, as volunteers of all ages come together to make a meaningful impact. Whether it’s pruning trees, tending to our gardens, repainting outdoor furniture or conducting general grounds maintenance, there’s always something that needs doing.
We are also honoured to have the ongoing support of local council leader, Graham Morgan, who often joins us for these events. He shares our vision of nurturing a safe and pleasant environment for the benefit of all.
“Looking after our locality is about building a future where everyone feels proud of their surroundings. It’s about leaving a legacy of care and respect for the next generation.”
His words are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. We all have the potential to affect positive change.
Social Value Sundays are open to everyone, and we are always welcoming new helpers who share our commitment to creating a positive, sustainable future for the community. As the African proverb goes, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Together, our community at Malvern Primary is going far indeed, building a space where students, families, and neighbours alike can thrive.
Whether you have a few minutes or a few hours to spare, your time, effort and presence make a real difference. Join us for the next Social Value Sunday, and let’s continue to show the incredible power of our Malvern community in action!
