Our links with Hope University have also led to our pupils taking part in School Citizen’s Assembly. A number of climate change experts from local councils and charities attended, speaking to the children about the changes that they could make in their schools to help with climate energy reduction. The pupils worked collaboratively to identify the issues in this area and then possible solutions, identifying short term and long term goals. Pupils then brought their ideas back to school and with the help Hope trainee teachers, Eco-committee champions and the headteacher, implemented a plan to reduce energy use in the school.
