At Malvern, we are proud to share our school site with Swanside Community Centre. A centre run by the community for the community. Staff at the community centre work tirelessly to provide opportunities and events which bring the community together such as weekly roast dinners, sewing club, food hampers and Christmas and Easter events.

As a school we meet with members of the community centre to share school celebrations such as the Easter bonnet parade, Christmas carols, choir performances and teddy bears’ picnics. Some year groups also host afternoon tea for members of the community centre with both the children and the adults performing.

We are extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful community surrounding us and look forward to sharing many more magical memories together.

LE Memory Makers

As part of our Year 1 LE Memory Makers we have been learning about toys from the past and today we went to Swanside to speak to the members of our community at their afternoon tea to talk about games they played when they were children and how they have changed throughout the years.  We sang songs and had a dance with John whilst he sang some songs to us.  We also played games such as ludo, dominoes, snakes and ladders before giving them our pop-up cards we had made in DT.  We all had a great time.
