Green Group

Green Group empowers eco-conscious pupils to explore environmental issues and solutions with like-minded peers. Through activities like reducing, reusing, recycling, promoting the benefits of walking and litter picking, members learn to be more mindful of their impact on the planet and how to inspire environmental awareness.

The importance of teaching young people to be environmentally responsible is highlighted in recent research, showing that early exposure to sustainable practices fosters lifelong habits and attitudes. Studies reveal that children who learn to care for their environment develop stronger problem-solving skills, greater empathy and a deeper sense of community responsibility.

Key Stage 2 pupils who attend Green Group regularly are given the role of Eco Committee members. In this trusted position, they take on greater responsibility, contributing their ideas for environmental initiatives and decision-making to help the school lead the way in sustainability.

As Greta Thunberg said, “You are never too small to make a difference.” Green Group embraces this sentiment, encouraging pupils to be changemakers and to inspire others to adopt sustainable practices that benefit our community and the planet.
