At Malvern, our computing curriculum equips learners with the creativity, knowledge and skills to understand the transformative potential of computing. Taught by a dedicated computing specialist, our curriculum ensures pupils develop a deep understanding of computing concepts and the confidence to apply their skills effectively.

Learners are taught to use technology responsibly, with a strong emphasis on maintaining their online safety. They learn to analyse problems computationally and gain repeated experience in writing computer programs to solve problems analytically and creatively.

Our computing curriculum is carefully sequenced to build both substantive knowledge—the facts, concepts and vocabulary of computing—and disciplinary knowledge, which enables learners to think and work like computer scientists. At Malvern, this progression is embedded across all year groups, ensuring learners build a strong foundation for future learning.

By fostering analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and responsible digital citizenship, our computing curriculum prepares pupils for a technology-driven world, empowering them to shape the future and use technology innovatively and ethically.
