Healthy Snack Menu

During Spring 2, Year 5 were tasked with creating a healthy snack prep menu. Their design-criteria involved the menu needing to be aimed at children throughout Malvern and included foods that aided in muscle growth and repair. To get started, Year 5 looked at Joe Wicks ‘The Body Coach’ to see how he has influenced healthy eating across the globe. From this, they explored the different food groups and decided which foods would help our muscles best. The children conducted their own market research – asking children throughout KS2 which fruit, vegetables and carbohydrate options they preferred most. With this in mind, Year 5 then created a five-day plan of healthy snacks that they could produce and put forward to the children of Malvern. Year 5 got straight to work, perfecting their chopping, slicing and grating skills to produce a variety of wonderful, colourful snacks!
