Mallon d’Or Award

The Mallon d’Or: Celebrating Outstanding Sporting Behaviour

At Malvern Primary School, we believe in nurturing not only the skills and talents of our students but also their character and sportsmanship. One of the most prestigious awards we offer to our young athletes is the “Mallon d’Or,” a recognition of exceptional sporting behaviour demonstrated throughout the Malsal competition.

What is the Mallon d’Or?

The Mallon d’Or is an illustrious award named in honour of our school’s commitment to promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play. It is a testament to our belief that success in sports goes beyond victories and goals; it extends to the values and conduct displayed on and off the field.

Celebrating Outstanding Sporting Behaviour

The Mallon d’Or is a special award that celebrates a student’s exemplary behaviour and attitude during the Malsal competition. It recognises the qualities that define a true sportsman or sportswoman, such as:

Respect: Respecting teammates, opponents, coaches and referees is at the heart of the Mallon d’Or. It acknowledges the importance of treating others with kindness and consideration, regardless of the competition’s intensity.

Fair Play: Fair play is a fundamental aspect of the Mallon d’Or. It recognizes students who play by the rules, accept victory and defeat graciously, and prioritise the spirit of the game over personal gain.

Teamwork: The Mallon d’Or celebrates those who embody the essence of teamwork. It acknowledges students who support their teammates, communicate effectively, and contribute positively to the collective effort.

Leadership: Leadership on and off the field is a key criterion for the Mallon d’Or. It recognises students who inspire and motivate their peers, serving as role models for sportsmanship and dedication.

The Mallon d’Or is a symbol of our commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel not only in their athletic pursuits but also in their character. It reminds us that, in the game of life, values like respect, fair play, teamwork, and leadership are just as important as any victory.  As we continue to celebrate the Mallon d’Or and recognize outstanding sporting behaviour, we encourage all our students to embrace these values and carry them forward not only in sports but also in every aspect of their lives. Congratulations to all past and future recipients of the Mallon d’Or, and thank you for being shining examples of sportsmanship at Malvern Primary School.
