Running offers numerous advantages, both physically and mentally. It improves cardiovascular health and can enhance mood while reducing stress. Running can also sharpen cognitive function, foster social interactions, and benefit discipline and goal-setting skills. Furthermore, running has been linked to better sleep patterns and long-term health habits. At Malvern we try to promote a joy of running in our pupils. We do this through our mile track and timer on the school playground. Children are scheduled to complete this every week. We also have a weekly cross country club for pupils in year 4,5 and 6. These children are then selected to complete in cross-country events across Knowsley against other schools.
