Year 4 Get Creative with Limerick Poems
In the autumn term, Year 4 embraced the challenge of writing limerick poems, a fun and lively form of poetry known for its rhythmic pattern and humorous twists. The children began by learning about the unique structure of limericks—five lines with a distinct AABBA rhyme scheme and a playful tone.
Once they understood the rhythm and rules, the children let their imaginations run wild, crafting their own witty and creative limericks on themes of their choice. Their poems were full of charm and humour, guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
