The Governing Board
The Governing Board provides strategic leadership and accountability in schools.
It has three key functions:
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
- Holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
Curriculum Committee
The main purpose of the committee is to discuss and monitor all aspects of the school’s work around pupil attainment and progress.
Buildings Committee
This committee oversees all matters relating to premises and physical resources. They monitor the school’s compliance with Health and Safety regulations & carry out regular monitoring visits of the building.
Finance, Personnel & Pay Committee
Governors are responsible for overseeing the financial performance of the school in accordance with the approved finance policy & procedures, making sure its money is well spent, and Best Value Principles are met.
All Governors are encouraged to attend the training sessions arranged by the LA.
