Malvern Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This means that we have a Child Protection and Procedures policy in place to safeguard all of the children in our care. Parents and carers are welcome to read the policy on our website. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

At Malvern our Designated Safeguarding Lead is, Miss Lois Murphy and our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are Mr Paul Kynaston and Miss Stephanie Baker.

Our Safeguarding Governor is Mrs Emma Tagoe.

If you have any concerns about a child’s safety or welfare, please speak to a member of the Safeguarding team or if you feel you cannot wait and feel that a child is at immediate risk, please contact the Knowsley MASH team on 0151 443 2600.

Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass is a scheme which operates across Merseyside to ensure schools are informed immediately of any domestic incidents which may involve their pupils.

By 9.00am on the next school day the school’s Key Adult will be informed that the child or young person has been involved, heard or witnessed a domestic incident. This knowledge, given to schools through Operation Encompass, allows the provision of immediate early intervention through silent or overt support dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child.

The Key Adults at Malvern Primary School are Lois Murphy and Stephanie Baker.
