Book Review: Alone On A Wide Wide Sea

‘Alone On A Wide Wide Sea’ by Michael Morpurgo

This book is about a little boy who has a sister called Kitty.  His dad told him to go on a boat without Kitty.  The man in charge was called Piggy Bacon.  He was mean.  If children did jobs wrong or too slow, he would whip them.  The boy didn’t enjoy his time with Piggy Bacon – but Piggy’s wife was very kind and caring.  At the end, I think the boy goes back to Kitty and has lots of fun.  I enjoyed this book a lot and would give it nine out of ten.  I think this book is for children aged between nine and eleven.
