At Malvern Primary School, we believe that Art is for everyone, and every child is an artist. We aim to promote a love of art and creativity, giving the children the opportunities to explore and develop their skills through our carefully planned art curriculum. During their time with us, the children will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of art forms including drawing, painting, collage, textiles, sculpture and printing. We also study a wide range of artists and encourage our children to take inspiration from them and generate their own ideas and creativity.
All children at Malvern have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of art activities, both in class and after school. Art club is held after school throughout the year, this changes termly for different year groups. In lessons and art club, the children learn a wide range of skills, and study a range of different artists and mediums.
At Malvern, we have recently introduced Arts Ambassadors. These children play a vital role in promoting Art across school. These are children who have a real interest and passion for the arts. Some of the roles of an art ambassador include helping out at special events such as art exhibitions, feeding back pupil ideas for how to improve the arts in school and promoting art competitions in school.
