At Malvern, our Design & Technology curriculum has been planned to allow children to foster their creativity, enhance their problem-solving skills, and grow innovation in young minds. Projects that our children undertake involve a combination of practical skills, knowledge and understanding.
Promoting Creativity
D.T. encourages children to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions. By engaging in hands-on activities like designing and making, students develop their creativity and learn to express their ideas visually.
Develops Problem-Solving Skills
Design challenges in D.T. present students with real-world problems that they must analyse and solve. This helps them develop critical thinking skills and learn how to approach challenges systematically.
Introduces Technological Literacy
In today’s digital age, D.T. plays a crucial role in introducing children to technology. Children gain hands-on experience with tools and software, developing their technological literacy from an early age. This could be using Computer Aided Design to develop ideas or using programming within products.
